TRANSFORMATION OF COMMUNICATION SPACE AND BUILDING-UP OF HUMANITY NEIGHBORHOODS SYSTEM——The Inspiring about Social Space of Chinese Megapolises from Western Gentrification

Abstract：After the tide of suburbanization, the cities of western countries began to encounter the new problem of gentrification: the displacement of low-incomes by the high-incomes and renewal of the ruined neighborhoods in inner cities. At the same time, those cities were imbued with the spatial problems of residential segregation, slums, racial seclusion and so on. The ultimate reason of gentrification was the change of connotation that cities pursued maximizing of capital, from the traditional economic capital to the overall one of environment, society, culture and economy. The best example of the change is economic and social graded mechanism of gentrification. However, it is obvious prejudicial. Based on the retrospection of studies of human-based trench and social injustices of gentrification, this paper pointed out that it is necessary to advance the conceptual of Communication Space. Following such ideas, the paper analyses the status Communication Space of metropolises in China: residential segregation, illusive common space, lose of organic relationship of communication space, increase of profit-oriented and illusive communication space. Aiming at these problems, the author realizes the importance of reasonable communication space that would promote the amalgamation process of communities and enhance the moral standard of urban planners. Finally, the paper suggests that it is necessary to construct a new model of "symbiosis competing neighborhood spatial system" from the view of community planner and advance some advice about how to solve the problems of communication space in China.
